The Murphree Area has numerous study spaces including the Fletcher Library, student lounges, and the Murphree Common Area. The Office of Academic Support is right across the street, and also has a plethora of space and resources available to students.
Leadership and involvement is also a key component of this community. Residents are encouraged to get engaged in the community leadership structure with the Living Learning Community and serve as a liaison to support event development, academic achievement, and the mentoring relationships between the mixed academic communities. Another opportunity is the Murphree Area Council, or to get involved in other campus organizations supported by our Stakeholders. For example, the Office of Academic Support (OAS) and Machen Florida Scholars Program (MFOS) have leadership and involvement opportunities within their office.
The Area Commons is centrally located in the area and is home to the Desk, Laundry, Study Spaces, Staff Offices, and Meeting Rooms.
The Courtyard is a beautiful outdoor space and regularly used to travel through the area and to class. It is also home for outdoor gatherings furnished with picnic tables and a grill.
